Parents and guardians assembled in the Covered Court of Notre Dame of Jolo College-Senior High School Covered Court to take part in the Parents’ Orientation on July 11. The event aimed to inform new regulations and served as the platform where parents can raise their concerns.
With the theme, “Building Strong Foundation Together: Parents’ Orientation for a Successful Year Ahead!”, the affair was divided into two; Parents of Grade 11 students were oriented in the morning, while the Grade 12 kicked off in the afternoon. Both sessions share the same flow, starting with invocations, singing of the Philippine national anthem, as well as opening remarks.
Ms. Mary Queen Z. Loria, LPT, MAE introduced the personnel; Mr. Ronreve A. Tusit, CPA, CAS, was the representative from the Office of the Vice President for Finance and presented the categories relative to the payments of the students; from the Office of the Registrar, Ms. Wenefreda T. Dela Cruz, MAChem, reminded the parents to submit the requirements that were not fulfilled during the enrollment phase; School Policies and Code of Conduct were explained by Ms. Sharifa Lilhairie H. Mana, LPT; Mr. Abdulhakim P. Aharuddin, LPT, clarified the academic distinction of the students as the Chairman of Honors and Awards Committee; Ms. Fhayna B. Sangdayan, LPT, MALTE, took center stage as she tackled the attendance and quarterly parents’ consultation; Work Immersion Coordinator, Mr. Moh. Abdelrashid M. Juhuri, LPT, MAMath, explained the expenses and journey that the garde 12 students will have; while Ms. Katrina Buenaobra, LPT, and Mr. Journ Mark Morillo, LPT, facilitated the open forum where the parents expressed their concerns about their children’s learning experience in NDJC-SHS.
The orientation fostered a shared responsibility between the parents and the institution in upholding discipline and the right to a quality education of the students.
