The College of Pharmacy and Medical Technology (CPMT) held the 6th White Coat Ceremony of Batch Mentes Posteriores, wherein 70 second-year pharmacy students were recognized as student pharmacists in their white coats and nameplates. The event took place at the NDJC Main Campus Covered Court on June 14, 2025.
The ceremony commenced with a processional of the candidates, along with their parents and guardians, administrators, representatives of different Colleges, and faculty members of the College of Pharmacy and Medical Technology. This was followed by the entrance of colors, then an invocation, and singing of the Philippine National Anthem and Notre Dame Hymn.
The College President, Fr. Eduardo M. Santoyo OMI, Ph.D., set the tone for the event with opening remarks that featured the essence of symbolic events such as the White Coat Ceremony, sharing that symbols are imbued with meaningful associations.
The candidates for the white coat ceremony were presented by the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Raymond R. Delos Reyes, before Fr. Santoyo OMI accepted them.
The imposition of white coats, nameplates and tokens was led by the Dean, Mr. Rapih A. Jairi, MPA, CSASS, and a faculty member, Ms. Raiza A. Ahmad, RPh.
Afterwards, the Pharmacy Program Coordinator, Mr. Norfaizier K. Jumdail, RPh, MSPharm, recognized the top ten performing students in the battery examination to pioneering batch of the Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology and the mock board examination to first, second, and third year of Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy.
Afterwards, Fr. Santoyo, OMI once again delivered a message to the new student pharmacists, highlighting the meaning behind the batch name and encouraging students to be future thinkers who address advancements in competency. He thanked the candidates’ parents and guardians for choosing Notre Dame College to hone their children’s potential and equip them with the knowledge and skills necessary for their professional lives.
Al-Quazar Geoff R. Omar led the pledge, emphasizing the responsibilities of student pharmacists and the values they uphold.
The batch sang their batch song entitled “Dream It Possible,” which evokes a sense of optimism in reaching one’s dreams.
Mohammad Fauzan Juhurani, the batch’s top student, delivered a message of gratitude on behalf of Batch Mentes Posteriores. He shared his experience of moving from a public to a private school and how his environment gave him a sense of belonging. He thanked his family, friends, and instructors for inspiring him in their different ways.
Batch Mentes Posteriores presented a video showcasing their two-year roller-coaster journey as pharmacy students until they reached their White Coat Ceremony.
Moreover, the batch offered another song entitled “Without You” for their parents and guardians, showing appreciation for their guidance, compassion, and love.
Mr. Jumdail, RPh, MSPharm was once again called onto the stage for closing remarks. During his remarks, he urged student pharmacists to be agents of change and beacons of hope, especially in today’s health issues. He also added that being a student pharmacist comes with great responsibilities and duties to fulfill.
The event concluded with the singing of the Pharmacy Hymn and photo opportunities of Batch Mentes Posteriores with administrators, faculty, and the top performers of both battery and mock board examinations.
