NDJC-LACD Commemorates 5th Badging Ceremony

At exact 1:30 in the afternoon on October 14 2021, the Notre Dame of Jolo College Liberal Arts and Criminology Department conducted its 5th Badging Ceremony for the recognition of BS Criminology Batch 2022, Marangal na Tagapagligtas MARAGTAS at Notre Dame of Jolo Colege – Senior High School Covered Court.

A total of 59 students from the Batch Maragtas marked one of the most pivotal moments in their life as Criminology students, as they finally recieved their badges. The program begun with the processional, led by the Mandala Colours, followed by the NDJC Administrators, Liberal Arts and Criminology Faculty and Staff and lastly the highlight of the event: The marching of the interns together with their beloved parents and guardians. Afterward, the invocation and singing of the Philippine National Anthem and the Notre Dame Hymn.

Mr. Altamer A. Hussin, one of the students of Batch 2022 Maragtas gave his words of welcome as he officially open the ceremony. Thereafter, the presentation of the interns, presented by the Chairperson of the Liberal Arts and Criminology Department, Ms. Nur-Ain Sahibil and was accepted by the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Darren B. Datiles. Then followed by the imposition of their respective badges by their parents which was the most awaited moment of the ceremony.  

Along the event, Mr. Michael Luven and Ms. Darwisa Dawile, also part of the Batch Maragtas, were given the chance to share their inspiring words. Most importantly, Fr. Eduardo Santoyo OMI, PhD (College President), delivered his message to the interns that says “… Don’t forget, Badging is just your initial success, where the true goal is, to pass the board exam…”.

Lastly, the said ceremony was concluded with the speech of Ms. Jonalyn K Yap, Rcrim, Criminology Coordinator, which she shared her congratulatory remarks to the Maragtas batch and the proud parents, and her relentless love to the Criminology department through her words. Indeed, despite of the pandemic and other current challenges, NDJC is true to one of its goals, which is  being Innovative
