Through the collaborative efforts of NDJC community and Maimbung Municipality, the Notre Dame of Jolo College conducted the 1st Maimbung youth formation with the theme “Come and See: A Glimpse to Notre Dame Spirit” on October 3, 2021. The event has two parts: Youth formation in the morning held at NDJC main library which was attended by the Grade 11 students from NDJC-SHS Maimbung and short program in the afternoon at NDJC-SHS covered court which were attended by the students, NDJC-SHS staff, and invited guests.
At around 8 am in the morning, pioneering students of NDJC SHS- Maimbung transported from Maimbung to Jolo for the Campus tour held at Senior High school and NDJC main campus. After that, different activities ensued in the morning just like tree planting and video presentation about NDJC which is held at Mini-theater. Meanwhile, the short lecturing about the Vision-Mission of NDJC and the introduction to the Notre Dame Hymn occured at the main library. It was then followed by the formation session with Bro. Jericho Veñarta, OMI.
The event continued in the afternoon at the NDJC-SHS covered court. Among the guests who graced the program were Hon. Mayor Shihla T. Hayudini, Fr. Eduardo M. Santoyo, OMI, PhD, Dr. Darren B. Datiles, VP for academic affairs and Dr. Salvador S. Zacarias, VP for finance.
Moreover, the program commenced with the words of welcome from the principal, Mrs. Emilda J. Jannaral. The college president Fr. Eduardo M. Santoyo, OMI, PhD also gave an inspirational message. In his message, the president emphasized the important role of education and encouraged students to study hard for their future.
Furthermore, some selected students of NDJC-SHS entertained the guests and participants through performing a song rendition and dance number. Afterwards, Hon. Mayor Shihla T. Hayudiini also gave a motivational speech to the students. The lunch was then served to every attendees and it was blessed by Bro. Jericho Veñarta, OMI.
Lastly, the profiling for ISMIS and ID pictorial of NDJC-SHS Maimbung students took place. The event successfully ended with the outreach program for PEDICAB drivers.
