NDJC Celebrates the 1st ever Pinning Ceremony of Teacher Education Department.

Despite the rainy afternoon on September 30, 2021, the Notre Dame of Jolo College Teacher Education Department conducted its first ever Pinning Ceremony for the 43 Pre-service Teachers for Bachelor in Elementary Education and Bachelor in Secondary Education at the NDJC-Senior High School Covered Court.

The College President Fr. Eduardo M. Santoyo, OMI PhD delivered an inspirational message for the attendees which focused on 3 main points that we all can agree: Importance of Competence, skills and transferring life skills. He further said, “Thriving despite the challenges in empowering students and transforming educators. Who is the center of this? You are the center of teaching and learning. It is not only about teaching and learning but the goal to transform future educators.” indeed, the school is striving for quality education for the learners and future educators of the society.
The event was followed by an insightful remarks from Cherian Sikal, a BEED student with her closing line from a well-known qoute, “In every hardship, there is ease.” The multitude inspirational remarks did not just end with messages from two people as yet another message had also been delivered by one of the parents in attendance, Mr. Jawani A. Akdam, “According to the President of the Philippines, no matter how worst it is for us, we are all together, we pray altogether because there’s always light at the end of the tunnel.”

Even at the midst of the pandemic, NDJC still made a remarkable impact on continuing the education of the students and creating joyful history for holding its First ever Pinning Ceremony of Teacher Education Department as the TED Chairperson Ms. Mitchelle Angeli S. Tarsum presented the 43 candidates and was then accepted by the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Darren B. Datiles and thereafter, pinning of the nameplates commenced.

The ceremony ended with the closing remarks from Shane-Zyra Balabagan from
BSED, “It is such a great achievement to be included in this honourable event. Mother door awaits us as we continue the journey. Remain humble. Your sacrifices will soon become a success.”
The event was followed by picture takings and food partake.
