NDJC Observes President’s Day and Blesses SHS Covered Court

   August 12, is a non-working holiday and online break for the NDJC Community as it marked the 55th Birthday of the Notre Dame of Jolo College President, Fr. Eduardo M. Santoyo, OMI, PhD together with the blessing of the newly-constructed NDJC-SHS Covered Court and Employees’ Day. The event was attended by NDJC teaching and non-teaching personnel, college and SHS staff, and selected students.

   Among the attendees who graced the occasion were Sulu Governor Datu Shabandar Abdusakur M. Tan, an alumnus of NDJC and the President of NDJC Alumni Association, Engr. Nelson Labay, the constructor of the SHS covered court, and Engr. Leo Datiles, NDJC consultant.

   The event commenced with the ribbon-cutting ceremony and the blessing of the new facility which was spearheaded by Fr. Santoyo and Fr. Raul Veneracion, OMI. It was soon followed by the program for the college president.

   In a speech given by Governor Tan, he reminisced his college life at NDJC and stressed the importance of education. He also extended his gratitude to Fr. Santoyo for their collaboration in establishing the NDJC-SHS Campus Extension in Maimbung, Sulu.

   On the other hand, Fr. Santoyo also thanked in his message the governor for the support. “We believe that success has been possible through the years even from 1954 because of the crucial dynamic collaboration among the stakeholders,” the college president said in his speech.

   Lastly, an outreach program for the PWDs and distribution of OTG’s and learning packets to the enrollees of NDJC-SHS extension were conducted at Poblacion, Maimbung in the afternoon.
