To assure that Notre Dame community is protected, the administration of the Notre Dame of Jolo College conducted a vaccination program as defense to the dreadful battle against Corona Virus, spearheaded by doctors and nurses in partnership with Notre Dame schools, hospitals in Jolo, and the #ResbakUna Pilipinas movement.
The vaccination program took place today, July 7, at the Notre Dame of Jolo for Girls Gymnasium in line with sustaining and supporting the vaccination campaign of the government and also protecting and promoting health and wellness of all the employees of NDJC.
“[One of the objectives of this event is] to promote the wellness, not only in terms of families, but [also] of course the community because health is crucial to sustain development,” as stated by the NDJC President Father Eduardo M. Santoyo, OMI, PhD during an interview.
Also, Father Santoyo made it clear that this vaccination program could also be a stepping stone towards the possible opening of classes but will still be subjected to the approval of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF), as well as Department of Education (DepEd) and Commission on Higher Education (CHED) if they will approve face-to-face sessions.
In addition to this, one of the chairpersons of the vaccination committee, Bro. Angelo Roberto T. Diana, OMI, MBA (Vice President for Administration) together with Dr. Sherhata Adjid-Sanaani and Dr. Rhea Warid-Tan were also accompanied by a total of nine doctors, of whom five were from the Integrated Provincial Health Office – Sulu (IPHO) and the four others were from Sulu Sanitarium.
To mention, the recently implemented program accommodated 490 members of the Notre Dame community who were vaccinated with the first dose of vaccines either Astrazeneca or SinoVac.
Meanwhile, Father Santoyo mentioned in his speech the importance of the vaccine and extended his gratitude to the different institutions who collaborated to make the event possible.
After the first dose, the vaccine recipients will be receiving their second dose after 28 days which NDJC commits to strive to cater them as part of the plan.
As of now, NDJC Community is eyeing for the development and protecting all the members of its community for betterment and survival in the trying times of health crisis.
