The Notre Dame of Jolo College Senior High School (NDJC-SHS) has officially concluded its search for the next generation of student leaders for Academic Year 2026-2027, with the Visionary Initiative Serving and Aspiring Goals Effectively (VISAGE) party emerging as the dominant force.
Following an extended three-day voting period spanning June 29 to July 1, the official tabulated results released tonight reveal a decisive victory for the VISAGE slate. Out of the contested seats, 16 student-leaders from VISAGE and 5 from the Journey of Young Visionaries (JOY) party were elected to form the new Student Council.
VISAGE clean-swept the executive positions, spearheaded by STEM 12-J’s Nor-Sheena D. Ynawat, who captured the ultimate seat of Student Council Governor. Ynawat secured 56.8% of the total votes, outlasting JOY’s Muzchawweda U. Mandangan, who garnered 42.1%.
Joining Ynawat in the executive roster are fellow VISAGE stalwarts: • Secretary: Nadziyfa A. Tahir (50.7% of votes) • Treasurer: Fatima Nadira S. Sawaban (60.4% of votes) • Auditor: Bin-Nashriff H. Omaga (51.3% of votes) • Public Information Officer: Cathryn Maquel A. Ahijon (56.2% of votes) • Academic Track Chairperson: Ahmed Rasheed A. Omar, who secured a commanding 73.9% of the electorate.
VISAGE also asserted its dominance in the legislative seats. In the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) bracket, STEM 12-D candidates Eidrauf M. Maldisa (68.6%) and Sherazahn A. Utuanis (50.3%) took the senior councilor seats, while Johnydell S. Jalani (59.7%) and Jesrie C. Annie (43.1%) were appointed as STEM 11 Councilors.
For the Home Economics and Caregiving (HE-CG) strand, Mie-anne B. Samdani of HE-CG 12-C claimed a seat with 51.6% of the votes, while her juniors Alizam A. Badulli (70%) and Mayanie-Liz A. Concillo (56.8%) secured the HE-CG 11 councilor spots.
Completing the VISAGE sweep in other strands, Vherque Sheen Karun led the race for ABM 11 Councilor with 57.3% of the votes. Meanwhile, Yuzra-mei D. Ynawat (ASSH 11) and Mieanne Rose N. Roldan (FBO 11) both ran unopposed, triumphantly locking in a perfect 100% confidence vote from their peers.
Despite the VISAGE wave, five candidates from the Journey of Young Visionaries (JOY) party successfully fought their way into office. Alahwie A. Doldol clinched the TVL Track Chairperson seat with 52.2% of the votes, while Fatima Daneen A. Taradji vied for and won the ABM 12 Councilor seat with a strong 70% finish.
The JOY party also picked up vital wins in other sections, with Rason R. Aharuddin securing the GAS 12 Councilor seat at 56%, Ferbielina K. Ammang topping the tally for HE-CG 12 Councilor, and Ahmed Hamja U. Akarab securing his council seat with a clean 100% of votes.
This year’s democratic process was entirely digitalized. The student body cast their deliberate votes at the SHS Computer Laboratory using an automated online approach powered by Google Forms, ensuring an efficient and transparent transition of power for S.Y. 2026-2027.
