Psychology students of Notre Dame of Jolo College (NDJC) were formally pinned during the 10th Psychology Pinning Ceremony held at the NDJC Covered Court on June 24, 2026. The event was held in honor of Batch Curatores Mentis, meaning “Healers of the Mind,” highlighting the students’ commitment to psychological service and advocacy.
The ceremony began with a processional march of the Psychology interns alongside their parents, followed by school administrators, faculty members, and SDPC staff. Afterwards, both Islamic and Catholic invocations were offered, followed by the singing of the National Anthem and the Notre Dame Hymn.
The program officially opened with the welcome remarks delivered by Ms. Shana-Sin Talib. The formal presentation of the Psychology interns was led by the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Mitchelle Angeli S. Tarsum, while College President Fr. Ross B. Kapunan, OMI, MASRC, headed their official acceptance.
Subsequently, the imposition of pins and nameplates was officiated by Fr. Ross B. Kapunan, OMI, and Dayang Nur-ain L. Sahibil, the Dean of CLACJE, with the assistance of Ms. Houri Zainab I. Baladji. Students were accompanied by their parents and guardians to the stage to receive their pins and nameplates.
In his inspirational message, Fr. Ross B. Kapunan reminded students that caring for themselves enables them to better care for others. Additionally, the guest speaker, Ms. Fatima Rania J. Kahar, RPM, shared her personal experiences and tenacity, encouraging students to always rise above setbacks, stating: “Every challenge has a purpose, every disappointment teaches me how to get up. Despite of uncertainties, I continued, even when I was tired. ”
Certificates of appreciation were then distributed. The program also featured testimonial messages from the interns, who reflected on their academic struggles, achievements, and memorable experiences throughout their college journey. Mixed emotions lingered at the venue during the tribute song and video presentation prepared by the interns.
A parent’s response followed, expressing deep gratitude to the institution for guiding and supporting the students throughout their academic formation. The interns then recited their professional pledge, which was followed by the batch song and another video presentation featuring milestones and memories that defined their journey as Psychology students.
Dayang Nur-Ain L. Sahibil, Dean of CLACJE, delivered the closing remarks. The milestone event concluded with photo opportunities among the interns, parents, faculty members, and guests.
