The Notre Dame of Jolo College (NDJC) College of Pharmacy and Medical Technology celebrated its 1st Homegrown Pinning and Donning Ceremony, officially recognizing 28 Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology students from Batch Inceptores Fortes as clinical interns.
The historic event was held at the NDJC Covered Court today, June 13, 2026, anchoring the theme, “Resilient Hearts, Driven by Purpose: A Celebration of Future Medical Laboratory Scientists Committed to a Lifelong Journey towards Building a Lasting Legacy of Healthcare Service for Humanity.”
The program commenced with the processional entrance of the administration, faculty, parents, and the members of Batch Inceptores Fortes, followed by the entrance of the KALASAG Colors and an ecumenical interfaith invocation.
Subsequently, Mr. Rapih A. Jairi, RPh, MPA, CSASS, Dean of COPMED, delivered the welcome remarks, emphasizing the monumental milestone of Jolo and NDJC’s very first homegrown MedTech batch. Following this, the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Mitchelle Angeli S. Tarsum, LPT, MAED, led the presentation of the 28 candidates for donning and pinning. They were then formally accepted and conferred by the College President, Fr. Ross B. Kapunan, OMI, MASRC.
As the ceremony proceeded, the interns underwent the symbolic imposition of nameplates and the donning of white laboratory gowns led by the Dean and faculty, marking their official entry into professional clinical practice.
Later in the program, Mr. Ahmad Wa-Thiq Y. Abdurajak, RMT, CRS, MedTech Coordinator, acknowledged the Top 10 Achievers of the recent Battery Examination. This was immediately followed by the Medical Technology Pledge, solemnly led by Mohammad Amil, Syamilah B.
The program then featured a heartfelt batch song, followed by an inspiring message from Fr. Kapunan. Afterward, Ms. Normaida A. Jul-Adam, the Overall Top 1 of Batch Inceptores Fortes, delivered the address of gratitude on behalf of her classmates.
Prior to the closing, Mr. Ahmad Wa-Thiq Y. Abdurajak returned to the podium to deliver the closing remarks, leaving the new interns with a powerful reminder: “Always remember that true success is not only found in passing examinations or earning titles. It is found in the lives you will touch, the patients you will serve, and the integrity you will uphold when no one is watching.”
The event successfully concluded with a emotional tribute song for the parents, followed by the singing of the PAMET Hymn, before closing with the recessional and photo opportunities for the awardees, their families, faculty, and administrators.
