Suluhan debuts in SPAM's 16th NCMC; bags award in group competition

Selected members of the 67th Editorial Board and Staff of Suluhan Publication, the official student publication of Notre Dame of Jolo College represented Sulu Province for the first time in the 16th National Campus Media Convention (NCMC) organized by School Press Advisers’ Movement Inc., (SPAM Inc.) held from September 25-27, 2025, at Angeles City, Pampanga. 
 
News Editor Frisilda Saji, Copy Editor Fatimah Annraiza Jubail, Head Cartoonist Alyssa Shianee Tan, Head Graphic Artist Mudaris Musaiya, Cartoonist Al-Rashiem Juhurani, and Photojournalist Sakeena Asiri together with the Publication Adviser Ms. Ellyn C. Solibas, LPT joined the convention along with various elementary, junior and senior secondary, and tertiary student publications nationwide. 
 
Despite the debut, the delegate made a remarkable achievement as Saji, Jubail, and Tan clinched sixth place in the tertiary category of Pambansang Pautakang Pampahayagan, competing against 51 other participating student publications. 
 
On the other hand, Tan participated in English’s editorial cartooning, while the rest competed in English’s digital magazine publication. 
 
Bringing together student journalists from 104 participating schools across the Philippines, the event featured various individual and group competitions, the 3rd International Research Conference on Media and Community Development and highlighted the appearance of the GMA Integrated News’ and Kapampangan journalist Ivan Mayrina as the guest speaker, before more than 1,000 student journalists.
