The Batch Natus Ad Vincere (Born to Conquer) who are the 23 fourth year psychology students from College of Liberal Arts and Criminal Justice Education (CLACJE) of Notre Dame of Jolo College held the 9th Pinning Ceremony at NDJC Smith Hall on Friday, July 4, 2025.
The program started with the processional of the administrators, faculties, guests, and the interns alongside their parents and guardians. The marching of the SANTATAG Colours followed right after.
Then, the usual preliminaries were conducted to officially start the program, with the Dean of CLACJE, Kah Dayang Nur-ain L. Sahibil, MAIS, delivering her opening remarks.
After that, the proclamation of job trainees for the school year 2025-2026 was made by the College President, Fr. Ross B. Kapunan, OMI, MASRC together with the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Raymond R. Delos Reyes, LPT and Kah Dayang Sahibil, MAIS.
Furthermore, the imposing of the pin was then conducted with Fr. Ross Kapunan assisted by Dr. Delos Reyes offering the pin that symbolized the becoming of the psychology students.
The College President then shared a short inspiring message after the pinning ceremony.
Afterwards, the batch sang the songs titled “Today My Life Begins” which encapsulates the essence of their batch name which is “to conquer”, and “You’ll Be In My Heart” showing their gratitude to their parents and guardians.
A video presentation was then shown to showcase the memories and the journey of the batch.
The Vice President for Academic Affairs also gave a message to congratulate the incoming interns.
Then, the guest speaker who is also an alumni of NDJC AB Psychology, Ms. Fhadzra Aisha P. Sabdani, RPm, MASS, delivered her inspiring words throughout her journey in the said program to further fuel the drive of the interns.
Subsequently, Weam Solomon delivered her speech in which she said, “As we receive our pins today, let this not just be a milestone—let this be a promise, a promise to serve—not just with knowledge but with compassion, to walk into every room with confidence, and also with humility— to carry with us the story of our hardships and let that story fuel our purpose.”
Sahibussaif Hailid also delivered his speech as he expressed his gratitude after receiving their pins. He also stated, “Let me share this quote which resonates with who we are, “Hardships prepare ordinary people for extraordinary destiny,” and today we rise, not as ordinary students, but as extraordinary individuals— shaped by hardships, driven by action, and ready to serve.”
Finally, Ms. Ellyn C. Solibas, LPT delivered the parent’s speech on behalf of the parents, guardians, and all the people who were with the students. Then, Ms. Houri Zaina I. Baladji, RPm, the Psychology Coordinator, gave her closing statements in which she shared how proud she is of the milestone achieved by the batch and to officially conclude the program.
Before the program ended, a photo opportunity was given to capture pictures of the batch together with their parents, and also the people who made the milestone possible.
