Ahajan, Uddin to lead MSG presidency, vice presidency for new school year

An-Hajjmhar Ahajan, and Nurhakeem Uddin Jr. dominated the two highest positions of Mahardika Student Government (MSG), the student government organization of Notre Dame of Jolo College for the school year 2025-2026.

Results were revealed yesterday, July 4, at the bulletin board of the Office of Student Affairs and Welfare, while also announced other elected winners for College representatives. ComEng over Psych for presidency Ahajan, a fourth year computer engineering student of College of Accountancy, Management, and Computer Education (CAMCE) obtained 1,289 votes, 21 points difference from Sahibussaif Hailid, a fourth year psychology student of College of Liberal Arts and Crminal Justice Education (CLACJE), with 1,268 votes from both College and Senior High School departments.

 

Hailid earned the highest votes in the College department with 797 votes than 484 votes of Ahajan, showing the great difference of 313 points. However, the Senior High School department favored Ahajan with 805 votes over 471 votes from Hailid, making him sat the highest position in MSG with great gap of 334 points. He will follow the presidency seat after the automatic victory of Fritize Mae Barade, a nursing alumna from the previous school year’s election. Automatic seat for vice presidency Uddin Jr., a third year accountancy student of CAMCE garnered 2,409 votes from the two departments. With no opponents for the said position, voters from College and Senior High School departments favored him with 1,133 votes in the College, and 1,276 votes, respectively. He will sit the position for the present school year after Raihana Capistrano, an accountancy alumna. Two out of many Selected Colleges with three or more candidates fought for the two seats of College representatives.

For the representatives from CAMCE, Jasrafer Jinnul, a second year accountancy student, and Keynur Yushfa Hadjail, a first year accountancy student obtained 115 votes and 97 votes over one other candidate with 72 votes. Then from CLACJE, Areej Mohammad Aiyub, and Madzrina Dugasan, both second year psychology students aced the colleges representative positions with 81 votes, and 75 votes than one other candidate with 34 votes. Furthermore, Farhanah Jinnul, a first year nursing student, and Shannen Kadil, a second year nursing student topped the election for representatives of College of Nursing and Midwifery (CONM) with 212 votes, and 164 votes, respectively.

They reached the top among nine other candidates, marking the most number of candidates for the said position. On the other side, for the Senior High School (SHS) representatives, Kashmeer Guludah, an eleven grade student, and Norzhahra Sarahadil, a twelfth grade student, both from Accountancy, Business, and Management strand of Academic Track got the highest favor from the senior high school students with 838 votes, and 564 votes, respectively. Automatic victory While other Colleges, and SHS department had challenged the triumphing spot for the representative position, only College of Education (COE), and College of Pharmacy and Medical Technology (CPMT) were automated to sit the position. For COE, two second year students, Nor-Shaiba Awali from secondary education, and Marriel Francisco from elementary education topped with 120 votes, and 114 votes. On the other hand, two first year students, Wasia-Zeta Sangkula from medical technology, and Nadzdawi Adam from pharmacy dominated the representative positions for CPMT, with 199 votes, and 183 votes.

Election for MSG was conducted on July 2, at NDJC Main Campus Student Hall, where college students casted their votes in ballot papers and thumbed before dropping in its box per College. On the other hand, the senior high school students conducted the election through automated online approach at NDJC-SHS Main Campus Computer Laboratory from July 3 to 4. MSG officers will be inducted with other major and minor organizations and clubs on Saturday, July 12.
