It was followed by the entrance of Sambisig Colours, invocation, and singing of Philippine National Anthem and Notre Dame Hymn.
Afterwards, Kah Dayang Sahibil welcomed everyone to this momentous event through her opening remarks, where she emphasized that the true strength lies within the fourth year psychology students, despite the failures, obstacles, and setbacks they experienced throughout their journey. And that they should “celebrate the remarkable individuals you have become”.
Then, the most anticipated part of the event took place, by which Kah Dayang Sahibil proclaimed the Psychology Interns and was accepted by Fr. Santoyo. Kah Dayang Sahibil, Fr. Santoyo, and Ms. Baladji assisted the pinning ceremony, as the guardians and parents imposed the pins to the psychology Interns. A heartfelt song and video presentation of the interns was then presented before their guardians and parents.
Moreover, Fr. Santoyo delivered an inspirational message where he highlighted the importance of thier batch name Natus Ad Illuminarium or “Born to Enlighten” to their profession – to giving light to others; being called to be of service to other people, in a broken, confused, and wounded world we live in.
Another inspiration message was also given by Ms. Abdulmajid, where she emphasized the importance of loving and embracing our own light, and stated that “I want you to not be afraid of your own light… It’s not because of other people are trying to judge them, it’s because they are afraid of their own light. That you can actually become greater, better, and truly manifest who you truly are”. She also added “Never forget that the deepest fear that we have is not our darkness but our light, so you need to start embracing it”.
Meanwhile, Mr. Alzhaidimier Tackong, one of the psychology interns, also delivered a message on behalf of their batch, where he showed his deep appreciation and gratefulness to everyone who became a strong support system in their journey – from their classmates, friends, instructors, NDJC community, and especially their parents and guardians who never failed to show them love in every way possible.
The message was responded by one of the intern’s parent, Mrs. Zherwela L. Bandahala, where she congratulated every parent for a job well done for being able to send their children to school despite how hard it is, and also wished the psychology interns a brighter future ahead of them as they embark on their Internship journey.
Furthermore, Ms. Baladji closed the program as she expressed her closing remarks where she thanked the psychology interns for the respect they have shown her and proudly emphasized the batch name to the interns.
“You are the exact embodiment of your batch name, Natus Ad Illuminarium. I wish you also bring light to other people’s life… Don’t be afraid to commit mistakes and may you grow to be the person you aspire to be,” she said.
The event concluded with a photo opportunity among all the attendees.
