NDJC-SHS RECOGNIZES HONOR STUDENTS AMIDST PANDEMIC

Notre Dame of Jolo College – Senior High School Department recognized two hundred and ten (210) students as academic awardees for the first semester, on March 7, 2022 held at NDJC-SHS Covered Court.

 

The half-day event began with the processional of the awardees, administrators, faculty and staffs followed by the colours that was hosted by Ms. Elnora C. Troncoso. The usual opening program held before Dr. Darren B. Datilles, the Vice President for Academic and Affairs formally opened the ceremony.

 

“…we always been together just to give the best education for you.” Dr. Datiles emphasized in his opening remarks.

 

The highlight of the ceremony was the acknowledgement of the senior high honor students before the school administrators and personnel. The lists were announced by Mr. Mohammad Aishier I. Dammang for Accountancy and Business Management Strand and Information and Communication Technology Strand, Mr. Paul A. Banagudos for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Strand, Ms. Ginalyn C. Forneza for General Academic Strand and Ms. Marife E. Sepnio for Caregiving and Bartending, Tourism Promotion, Food and Beverage Management under Home Economics Strand, respectively.

 

Certificates of recognition for ninety-eight (98) Grade 11 honor students were distributed by Dr. Darren B. Datiles, Vice President for Academic and Affairs and Mrs. Elmida J. Jannaral,  Senior High School Department Principal before an entertainment number by Gladimier Galib of Grade 11 who performed Rachel Platten’s “Fight Song” that received awe-inspiring reactions from the crowd.

 

Fr. Eduardo M. Santoyo, OMI, PhD, College President and Ms. Ginalyn C. Forneza, Senior High School Department Vice Principal led the distribution of the certificates of recognition for one hundred and twelfth (112) Grade 12 honor students afterwards.

 

“And I supposed that you have struggled in different issues—issues about depression, boredom, confusion probably indifference. But the good news is, despite of pandemic, we have bounce back and most of all, you have fought a good fight.” Fr. Santoyo delivered his inspiration message after the formal recognition.

 

Mrs. Elmida J. Jannaral,  the Senior High School Department Principal officially closed the program in her closing remarks. “Continue to be an inspirations to your fellow students while keeping yourself inspired. Continue to be a blessings to others while you stay blessed in your own ways. And most importantly, continue to make your parents proud. I know you can make them prouder in your own little way.”, she said.

 

Photo opportunities among the awardees, administrators and personnel concluded the first-ever recognition ceremony in line of the present situation brought by the COVID-19 pandemic.

 

In the statistics from the Honors and Awards Committee Head, Ms. Mary Jane C. Futalan, the Grade 11 honor students consisted of eighty-two (82) STEM students, three (3) GAS students, six (6) ABM students and seven (7) HE-CG and HE-BTF students. While the Grade 12 honor students composed of sixty-seven (67) STEM students, nine (9) GAS students, four (4) ABM students, one (1) ICT student and thirty-one (31) HE-CG and HE-BTF students.
