"BMED Celebrates First BSHM Pinning Ceremony"
On the 14th of January 2021, the Business Management Education Department of Notre Dame of Jolo College conducted its first-ever BSHM Pinning Ceremony, having a total of sixteen interns, held at the NDJC Smith Hall.
The event started at 1:30pm with the processional of the students together with their parents, followed by the invocation led by Mr. Algin A. Isdung for the Muslim prayer and Ms. Stephanie L. Cuestas for the catholic prayer. The entrance of the colors followed for the singing of the national anthem, and Notre Dame Hymn. Afterwards, Ms. Elieza Tusit, MBA, delivered her welcome remarks. “I express how proud and how we appreciate your dedication to this program,” as told by Miss Tusit herself. This was followed by the presentation of interns, done by Dr. Darren B. Datiles (Vice President for Academic Affairs) and accepted by Fr. Eduardo Santoyo, OMI, Ph.D., the NDJC campus president. It was then followed by the imposition of pins to the students by Ms. Tusit, with the assistance of Fr. Santoyo.
After that remarkable moment, an inspirational message was given by Fr. Santoyo, “You will be inspired by the different aspects that you have learned in the four walls of our campus. So, your horizon will broaden”. Another insightful remark was delivered by Clarence S. Cabanlit as he delivered his words of gratitude especially to his mom, and proudly said “Being in this field is not something we would regret in the future”. An emotional and tearful moment happened as the students sang a tribute for their parents and gave them white roses. In relation to that, a parent’s response was spoken by Ms. Simonette Dinsuat. The candidates then performed their batch song afterwards.
The pinning ceremony ended with the recessional and a photo opportunity of the students together with the faculty of BMED. It ended with everyone in attendance enjoying a delicious four-course meal prepared by the lower year levels of the Hospitality Management course.
