A total of 5 Psychology Interns from the batch Natus Ad Adiendum graced the 5th Psychology Pinning Ceremony held on September 29, 2021 at the Notre Dame of Jolo College Smith Hall. The NDJC administrators, Liberal Arts and Criminology Department Faculty, and the whole Psychology Program were present at the ceremony.
The event started at 9:30 AM with the processional of the administrators, faculties, and students together with their beloved parents/guardians followed by the invocation and the entrance of the colors. The opening remarks was delivered by the Dean of Liberal Arts and Criminology Department, Kah Dayang Nur-ain L. Sahibil, MAIS. The pinning to the job trainees was conducted by Dr. Darren B. Datiles, PhD with the assistance of Father Eduardo M. Santoyo OMI, PhD (College President) and the Dean of LACD. It was succeeded by the singing of a dedicated song performed by the batch. An inspirational message from the college president soon followed, where he shared about the importance of psychology professionals in relevance to mental health awareness especially throughout the world.
Subsequently, two psychology interns delivered their messages about their journey and experience in college while taking up the course. “Despite the challenges we faced together, we did not fall back at all but instead we became even stronger. Don’t let other people bring you down. Let’s continue supporting each other, and spread awareness about mental health,” as stated by Rhabya A. Sahidaini. “Let other people distract you but never let them destroy you. at the end of the day, your hardwork would be paid off and you are the one will be benefit it,” added by Fatima Rania J. Kahar.
“The five of you never owe me anything, but you owe it to the people of Sulu, and to the parents, to the people behind you to pay it forward,” stressed by Ms. Fatimatuzzahra A. Abdulmajid, RPm, the Psychology Coordinator and SDPC Director during her closing remarks. Finally, the event was concluded by the singing of the Notre Dame Hymn and photo opportunity at around 11:00 AM.
