With the theme “Celebrating Professionalism for Holistic Development of Future Pharmacist in Sulu”, August 25, 2021 marked Notre Dame of Jolo College’s Health Sciences Department’s 2nd White Coat Ceremony for its 3rd Year BS Pharmacy students at NDJC SHS Covered Court.
A total of 41 BS Pharmacy students took their pledge and marked one of the most significant moments of their lives as college students following their chosen profession.
Students, parents, teachers and various personalities were in attendance alongside the presence of Registered Pharmacists from Sulu Sanitarium, Sulu Provincial Hospital, and Camp Teodulfo Bautista during the said event.
The program started with the processional marching of the students together with their beloved parents and guardians. Following the opening prayers and singing of the National Anthem and Notre Dame Hymn, the event was officially opened with the remarks from the Chairperson of Health Sciences Department, Dr. Fatima I. Abubakar. Subsequently, the Vice President for Academics, Dr. Darren B. Datiles presented the candidates and was afterwards accepted by the College President, Father Eduardo M. Santoyo, OMI, Ph.D. The imposition of the white coats, nameplates and tokens commenced with the assistance of Dr. Abubakar and Mr. Rapih A. Jairi, RPh, MPA, CSAS, the Pharmacy Coordinator. The event was then followed by the awarding of the top 10 achievers in the Mock Board Examination for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd year students as presented by Ms. Adaweeya S. Adju, RPh, MPA.
“… We share the dream for you to become successful.” said Fr. Santoyo as he delivered his inspirational message to the batch Natus Victorious. Lastly, Fatima Emilheeda B. Buklaw gave her Address of Gratitude and the remarkable event ended successfully with the singing of Pharmacy Hymn and photo ops.
